Who we are
Litjens Venkel is established in Leunen, close to the town of Venray. In this part of North Limburg , the heavier sandy soil is exceptionally suitable for fennel cultivation.
During the Dutch fennel season, which runs from May through to November, owner Joop Litjens supervises a team of 15 employees active in processing the fennel into an end product for the food industry, wholesalers and retailers.
Covering an area of 50 hectares and with a production volume of well over 1000 tons, Litjens Venkel has evolved into the Netherlands’ leading grower. The size of the organisation and the fennel specialism allow Litjens Venkel to guarantee perfect quality and sufficient volume during the whole season.
